This song was penned with a typical thought process among songwriters. “Well, at least we got a song out of it.” I wrote this song about a particularly deadly break up a friend of mine experienced. It’s sad to think that we hold on to a relationship because we might get something from it. I believe there is a point where you know it has run its course. The couple knows when love has turned sour. It still tears me up to think about my friend and how poorly this relationship ended. I think of her often. I want to dedicate this to you and your beautiful family. I hope the levity of the video doesn’t take away from the beauty in life that she shared with me.
Open communication is so important to any relationship. Always be kind and honest, you can do both! In having the hard conversations and you will feel peace. Sorry to get preachy. It’s my video description! I can preach a little if I need to.
